Summary: Player is not recognized by Vista or XP but .....
Comment: I just received my 2GB Sansa c200 yesterday and I was very excited to try it out but when I plugged it into my laptop computer ... that's when the fun started!!!

First off, my computer saw it immediately as an MTP device, and in the device manager it put it under Portable devices with MTP as one of the labels. However, it wouldn't work! I couldn't locate it in My Computer, nor did any of my music synching programs work. In Device Manager it showed the device with the yellow exclamation mark. I checked the properties and it gave me a Code 1 error, device not configured correctly.

I worked with it for a good couple of hours trying to determine why my XP Pro wouldn't install it properly. Finally I did the following steps and it worked immediately!! (If you are using Vista, try to figure out how to adapt the following instructions. They are pretty similar).

0. Plug the Sansa Express into a USB 2.0 slot
1. Open the start menu and right click on My Computer
2. Click on properties
3. Locate and click on the "Hardware" Tab of the system properties window that pops up
4. Find the button that says "Device Manager"
5. When you do this, another window will pop up with a list of all of the hardware installed inside of your computer, you should see the Sansa Express somewhere in this list with the yellow exclamation mark.
6. Right-Click on the Sansa Express and click on "Update Driver"
7. When the next window opens up, instead of allowing it to search automatically, click on "Install from a list or a specific location (Advanced)" and click next
8. On the next window, click on the last option "Don't search, I will choose the driver to install" and click next
9. When I did this, it had two options listed. MTP Device and USB Mass Storage Device. If you see these options highlight the USB Mass Storage Device and click next. It should install Immediately!!

I sincerely hope this helps anyone, I searched and searched on line for an answer, and I couldn't come up with anything. I fiddled around with it for a long time. Thank god I got it to work! Good Luck everyone!!

Summary: Not bad
Comment: Wanted a product that I wouldn't have charging/re-charging issues on a long airplane flights (US to S.Africa- 18+hours). This serves the purpose...J\just have to remember to carry replacement battery.
The fact that it's small is a bonus but this can also be a problem as you need a pocket or something to keep it in since it doesn't attach.

Summary: VERY GOOD PRODUCT, VERY GOOD PRICE
Comment: This MP3 player you get a good device at a very affordable price. Easy to setup, use and maintain. Don't expect it, however, to last years. This is my second one and the past one lasted 1 1/2-2 years. But overall, a great cost efficient device to enjoy your music everywhere.

Summary: Piece - O - Junk
Comment: I loved it until I started to use it. It doesn't have a normal filing system, just tags, so all your music gets lost. I guess it's fine for those guys with just 20 or 30 songs... But I have MUCH more than that! This is just a waste of time. Sure looks nice though, don't it?

Summary: Average or minimally good
Comment: First the good. I bought this for its recording feature. I don't care much for the other features, such as photos, MP3 player, etc. I have iPod for that, thank you. For the 2GB capacity, it is more than I care. And that's good. The simplicity of the recording is excellent, better than I expected. This tops the Sony voice recorder I have that I paid a lot more for than this Sansa. All you need to do when you're in a recording mode is two buttons. Press the Pause button and the recording is On. If you don't like what you recorded press the OK button and you're given a choice to save it or not. That simple. In terms of recorded voice quality, it's very crisp and clear. No static. I use this to record Bible texts. And I'm happy about it.

Now the bad. With that small screen, photo display is a joke. The battery charge indicator is hardly visible. You hardly see the dashes move indicating the battery is in a charge mode. Another thing, if you can remove the battery cover without destroying the unit, good luck. I still rate this as a worthy product for a simple, high quality voice recorder.
