Summary: Crystal talk is a joke
Comment: I just got this thing today. This is my first "nice" headset and I was excited to have noise canceling on it. By the end of the day I decided to return it. There is no noise canceling on this thing, zero, not at all! My girlfriend thought I was still talking on my four-year-old cheap Motorola headset hearing every bit of background noise in my car while I was driving (with the windows rolled up). The second issue I had was that the max volume on it was much too low while driving in the car, which with the new California hands free law, is the only reason that I upgraded.

This thing looks very sharp and if I wasn't using this thing for only driving I might keep it just for the trick charging station and the real on and off switch but the bottom line is its just not that great of a headset especially for the 129.00 I paid because I didn't want to wait for it to come in the mail.

Summary: What a pain
Comment: This is the most painful headset I've ever used. The sound quality is no big deal either. The fact that it is not easy to put on and take off quickly makes it so you have to keep it on if you don't want to miss a call. But keeping it on for a couple of hours caused me pain no matter which size ear pad I used. The charger is only for home, so no quick charge in the car in any emergency. The Jawbone is much better for comfort and I've had no problems with it at all as far as sound quality. The jawbone charger is its weak link, however, as with time it becomes loose and difficult to connect to the device.

I'd stick to the old H700, with good noise control, great comfort and the ability to charge anywhere.

Summary: Moto H12
Comment: I got my Moto H12 when I got my 755p. I was skeptical about it as I'm not a big fan of Moto products (I didnt find its boxy shape all that attractive either) and I'm partial to Jabra. Needless to say, I was surprised by this lil guy and its cute accessory gadgets. I like that you have the option to store it in its covered case and charge or simply attach it to the magnetic desktop charger. The desktop charger is the only one I've used thus far and I really like it. The unit snaps right onto it and starts charging. I don't worry about the contacts being lined up for it to connect to the strong magnetic ports as it has grabbed it perfectly each time. It's very light weight, it has adjustable earpiece covers to fit comfy in your ear AND a thin flexible optional around the ear clip that you can clamp on and use comfortably even with your glasses on. It's very comfortable for hours upon hours of wear/use. I've even forgetten I had it on! The battery life is good. I've only had it start to die on me once but I can tell you that I was on a call that lasted for hours! It's incoming call indicator ring is loud and clear enough for you to hear over loud outside noises which was a problem I had with my other earpieces and why I chose ones with vibrating alert. It has little discreet red, yellow, green charging status lights on the front to inform you of the level of charging. The volume buttons are easily accessed on the side of the unit. I like that you can power it off and on by a switch located on top if the unit instead of pressing and holding the answer button. With most headsets, when you press and hold the button too long you mistakenly go into pair mode. Speaking of pairing, it paired instantly with my Treo 755P with no problem. I haven't used its other features offered like "muting a call" because I do that from habit on my handset. The only thing that I do not care for that Moto claims this earpiece offers is noise cancelling. Nowadays, there isn't a earpiece on the market that doesn't claim to have superb noise cancelling ability. This is my sixth BT earpiece I've gotten in hopes of finally getting it only to be disappointed again. Actually, I've noticed that it seems to amplify the noises around me where I have to turn it off and just use the handset to finish my call. Maybe it's not possible to exclude noises like blowing wind from earpieces. Other than that, compared to my Jabra & Palm earpieces, this is my fav because of its ease of use & optional charging posts. By the way, BT earpieces operate differently with each phone its paired with although I would think that they would work with any phone with BT technology. With that said, its trial and error if it doesn't specifically say "recommended for use with xyz" phone model. I've only used my H12 with my 755p and I'm okay with it despite it picking up the sounds/blowing wind around me and cancelling my voice out altogether! I heard that the JawBone is the very top of the line noise cancelling earpieces currently sold. Hmmm...I'm off to read those reviews!

Summary: Plenty of Flash, Not Good on Function
Comment: Received this today, and have good and bad initial impressions. One, it's a very good looking device and the accessories are nice. A charging stand and a small closeable case that can act as a charger as well are both very handy and look good as well. The H12 itself is very small and is comfortable to wear. Microphone and speaker reception are both strong, and the voice quality is very good. This is paired with a RAZR V3m, latest software available from Verizon.

The only real weakness this headset has is signal strength. Bluetooth should have a range of up to 33 feet. This headset has minor static at 2 feet, and is unusable at 25 feet (line of sight). Minor static means that the call doesn't distort or drop, but you do intermittently hear background fuzz.

My Motorola H300 headset has no problem when I'm talking while 25 feet away from my phone, and certainly doesn't have static at 2 feet. I like a headset that looks good, but it has to have good signal strength to at least 6 feet away. That covers most situations in your car or walking around with the phone in your pocket. Static at less than 6 feet from the phone is a real problem. It shouldn't be a deal breaker necessarily, but this is not a "free with the phone" headset. You should get what you pay for, and I'm not sure you do with the H12.

Great looking, good accessories, clear mic and speaker. But the static kills it, especially when you look at the price.

Summary: Mediocre - Good for the car
Comment: I would like to start out by saying this is my first bluetooth. The phone I am using it with is the Motorola Q Global (ATT). New law 7/1/08 so I was forced to get something.

My hair easily covers this headset and is completely hidden. I really like that feature. It is lightweight and when I call others they claim that the clarity is better than when I speak from cell phone. You get a really awesome carrying case which is also a charging base. The fit of this headset is also good, easy to put on with one hand and I wear glasses and it does not conflict at all.

However, the clarity for ME, especially if I am not in the car, is awful. And sometimes in the car is still not good. The volume is inadequate in the best situation.

For some reason the desk charger does not work the best. It is hard to get the headset positioned just right to be sure it is charging.

Battery life is mediocre nothing to write home about.

If Motorola fine tunes this bluetooth it stands to be the best. Looking for an new and improved version of this.

My daughter recommends that I buy the Jawbone II by Aliph, so I am going to try it also. But I am attached to the this one and hope that Motorola keeps the good the same and fixes the other issues.

Pros:
1) Small
2) Lightweight
3) Fit is great
4) Easy to put on
5) Nice charging options
6) Very Nice carrying case/charger
7) Nice adapter cable included

Cons
1) Very poor clarity (user/my end)
Static
Cutting in and out
Loudness inadequate
Tinny

2) Desk Charger: has to be positioned just right to charge

3) Battery life not the best
